Salted Date Caramel with Bourbon

There is not too much to say about this recipe, the name says it all! This recipe is free of any refined sugar and trans fats that regular camels are full of, but you will not miss it! In the picture above I served the caramel on cashew ice cream topped with pecans and dark chocolate chips. This caramel is so good you will have to stop yourself for eating it all straight out of the blender.

1 cup soaked dates with the pits removed
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 TBS creamy natural peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
1 TBS bourbon (optional)


Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth. Serve warm over ice cream and top with fresh berries, nuts or chocolate.
